Not gonna lie guys, I’ve never been good about writing about myself. How am I expected to compile the entirety of my life experiences that led to the decision to open up a business that serves as my creative outlet because of the years I spent focusing on academics because my immigrant parents made me believe that the arts were good as hobbies but never a career?
Huh, I guess that kind of covers it, right? Sort of.
In reality, I have always loved the visual arts; my mother sent me to art camp for 2 weeks when I was 8 years old and I think art had a chokehold on me ever since. The beauty of art is that our lives are so intertwined with art that I always found myself connected to it in one way or another. But on the other hand, I’ve always been a problem solver. Kinda had to be when we couldn’t just afford to buy the things we needed – we always made them.
So what happens when you are an artistic DIYer?
You become everyone’s art bestie. I had a friend once tell me that if she couldn’t find the thing she needed that all she would need to do is give me a marker and some cardboard and I would make it for her.
Which I think is a totally accurate description of my personality.
So with all that in mind, Gresh Designs is where I offer my out-of-the-box thinking as a service to others.
